Wai Innovation launched in 2020 with a waterjet, no sign on the door, and not a single dollar booked. Our waterjet has seen us through thick and thin, and is the mate you always want to have your back.
What can it cut? Absolutely everything. Well…we won’t cut a few things for environmental reasons, but it’s certainly capable.
100mm steel? Tick. 150mm aluminium? Tick. 300mm timber? Tick. 200mm rubber? Tick. Plywood, rubber, stone, glass, foam, fabric, tile? Tick tick tick tick tick tick tick. We joke that our customers could bring us something that we couldn’t cut…but they’ll probably have trouble getting it here.
It’s a fascinating mix of high-tech and low-tech. The high pressure plumbing, the depth of the cutting model, and the motion control? All amazing. The big dumb tank of water? Big and dumb.
Our waterjet has a 1500x3000mm table (just like our laser), but the tricks we can play with it are myriad. We can cut super long stuff (well, up to 6 metres) with a particular trick. We can fixture just about anything to it - want your name cut through a boat anchor? Game on. The utter flexibility of the machine, paired with our practical and creative approach to getting the job done, means that what the other guys toss into the “too hard basket” is just what we eat for breakfast.
